Summer Program - Urban Forestry Team

Summer Program - Urban Forestry Team Leader
- Term: June - August 2025
- Pay: $18/hour, 24 hours/week, 6 weeks
- Positions: 2
- Schedule: MWF 8am - 4pm
- Location: Lynn City Hall, Planning, Room 204
- Description: Co-lead & oversee daily work tasks for a 4-member youth crew. Leaders will teach & practice urban forestry skills, as well as employability/job skills. Each Leader will complete a research project related to the Urban Forest Plan with assistance from supervisors and the Urban Forestry Team. This is a field and office position, so get ready to lead a crew as they collect data in the field, and take it back into the office.
- Qualifications: Young adults (age 18-24 by July 1) completed grade 11 or higher (graduates welcome to apply), able to get to and work from City Hall on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 8am - 4pm. Leaders should be interested in trees, natural resource management, career-building, mentorship and training, and the Lynn community.

- Pay: $16.50/hour, 18 hours/week, 6 weeks
- Positions: 4
- Schedule: MWF 9am - 3pm
- Location: Lynn City Hall, Planning Department, Room 204
- Description: Learn & practice urban forestry and employability/job skills. Each Member will complete a mini research project related to the Urban Forest Plan with assistance from supervisors and the Urban Forestry Team. This is a field and office position, so get ready to collect data outside, and take it back into the office as you learn!
- Qualifications: Young adults (age 16 by July 1) completed grade 9 or higher (Lynn residency preferred), able to get to and work from City Hall on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 9am - 3pm. Members should be interested in trees, natural resource management, learning, and the Lynn community.
September → December 2025
School Year Program - Urban Forestry Co-ops
School Year Program - Urban Forestry Co-op
- Term: September through December 2025
- Pay: $18 per hour, 13.5 hours per week
- Positions: 2
- Schedule: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 11:30am - 4:00pm
- Location: Lynn City Hall, Planning Department, Room 204
- Description: Participants will learn & practice urban forestry and arboriculture skills, as well as employability/job skills. Each Urban Forestry Co-op will complete a research project related to the Urban Forest Plan with assistance from supervisors and fellow co-ops. This is a field and office position, so get ready to collect data in the field, and take it back into the office as you learn!
- Qualifications: Participants should be Lynn Public Schools student in grade 11 - 12 (junior/senior), able to get to and work out of City Hall on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 11:30 am - 4:00 pm. Participants should be interested in/curious about trees, natural resource management, career-building, and the Lynn community. We are looking for kind, responsible, and hardworking students with good communication skills.
