The City of Lynn is updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) to help reduce its vulnerability to natural hazards such as flooding, hurricanes, and winter storms. The Lynn HMP was last updated in 2016, and by updating the plan, the City will better position itself to effectively respond to natural disasters and maintain eligibility for funding through the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) to implement hazard mitigation projects.

An working group consisting of a number of City Departments and local agencies as been working has been working in partnership with the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) to carry out the HMP planning process. In addition, two public meetings have been conducted to inform the community about the plan and solicit feed back and ensure it responds to the communities unique context. Explore this project page to review presentations from past meetings, video, and the Draft HMP. Updates will be coming in the future with the final plan adoption targeted for March of this year.

The Lynn Hazard Mitigation plan was adopted by the Lynn City Council in June 2022, and subsequently has been approved by the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA). Please find the final plan in the Documents section of this project page.
